CartriCharge Imaging began in 1990, in Arcata, California. Its original name, “CartriCharge West,” was coined by founding retired high school mathematics teacher and sports coach Nick Wilson and his wife, volunteer-turned staff Girl Scout program center developer/manager Dixie Wilson. Back then, there were only a few printers available on the market and even fewer toner cartridges. That’s because in the early years of office printing, cartridges would fit and work in a variety of machines made by different name-brand manufacturers (!). The landscape of printing, faxing, scanning, copying, networking and communications has changed dramatically since those early times. Thankfully, public awareness of limited natural resources, the need to reuse and recycle to reduce waste and costs has also changed for the betterment of our environment.
Today, CartriCharge Imaging is familiarly known as “CartriCharge” and “CCI”. Peter and Patty Hecht, next-door neighbors and friends of the Wilsons, gratefully accepted the helm of CartriCharge Imaging in 2004. The husband-wife team manage all of CartriCharge’s business activites. From processing toner and ink cartridge orders, remanufacturing of cartridges, repairing of printers, copiers and faxes, to delivering the products to the doors of businesses, schools, churches, homes, and more, they work successfully as an excellent professional pair.
